Unboxing

Unboxing the YUKA Mini is a breeze, and it comes with everything you need to get started. Inside the box, you’ll find the mower itself, an RTK station, various mounting brackets, spare blades, and even a product guide with QR codes for extra support. The organization of components makes it easy to understand each part’s purpose, ensuring a smooth setup process.

Assembly

Assembling the YUKA Mini is a straightforward task that takes just 10 to 15 minutes. The only major step is attaching the upper part of the charger to the base. Simply clip it in and secure it with the provided screws. Don’t forget to remove the protective stickers from the sensors, as these are crucial for optimal performance. Once assembled, you’re ready to put the mower to the test.

Specification

The YUKA Mini comes in two models: the 600 and the 800. The 800 model covers an area of 800 square meters, while the 600 model is suitable for 600 square meters. This makes it a fantastic option for homeowners with smaller lawns who want the benefits of robotic mowing without the hefty price tag of larger models.

Both mowers share a similar body design, but there are key differences in their specifications:

  • Battery Capacity: The 600 model has a 2.4 Ah battery, while the 800 boasts a 6.1 Ah battery, allowing it to mow larger areas per charge.
  • Charging Time: The 600 takes about 90 minutes to charge, compared to the 800’s 230 minutes.
  • Zone Mapping: The 800 can map up to 10 zones, while the 600 can handle 5.
  • Cutting Height: Both models offer a cutting height range from 20mm to 60mm, making it suitable for various grass types.

Mammotion iNaviâ„¢ Service Explained

The YUKA Mini utilises Mammotion’s iNavi™ Service (NetRTK+Vision), a breakthrough in precise positioning that requires no setup. This advanced service provides centimetre-level satellite positioning accuracy without needing an antenna. What makes this system special is its zero-setup, hassle-free start – you’ll experience precise positioning instantly from day one, anywhere in your yard/garden.

The system excels in all scenarios, proving signal-free and obstruction-resistant. Even in challenging conditions such as rain, uneven terrain, no signal, or obstructions, the NetRTK+Vision System ensures consistent performance across all lawn environments, keeping your grass perfectly maintained.

With smart and precise functionality, the iNaviâ„¢ Service effortlessly ensures centimetre-accurate positioning, navigating even the most complex landscapes with ease. Additionally, its advanced 3D AI Vision system for obstacle avoidance recognises and avoids over 200 types of objects, from toys to garden tools, ensuring safe operation throughout your garden.

Installation & Setup

Setting up the YUKA Mini is a straightforward process. First, position the charging station in a flat area with easy access to power. Using the provided screws, secure it to the ground to prevent any movement during operation.

Next, connect the RTK station if needed, although the new iNaviâ„¢ service allows you to bypass this step entirely. Once everything is in place, simply place the mower on the charging station, and it will power up automatically. The app will guide you through connecting both the mower and the station to your Wi-Fi network.

Cutting & Navigation

The cutting performance of the YUKA Mini is impressive, thanks to its advanced AI navigation system. It can handle slopes up to 50%, making it suitable for varied terrains. The mower utilizes high-definition cameras for obstacle detection, allowing it to navigate around gardens and avoid obstacles seamlessly.

With the ability to auto-map, the YUKA Mini learns the layout of your lawn, creating efficient mowing paths that ensure complete coverage. The cutting pattern is optimized for efficiency, reducing the time spent mowing while providing a clean cut.

Night Time Cutting

One of the standout features of the YUKA Mini is its ability to operate at night. This is especially useful for those who want to avoid daytime disruptions. The mower is equipped with sensors that ensure safe navigation in low-light conditions, allowing it to mow without any issues.

Additionally, the option to schedule mowing during the night can be a great way to keep your lawn tidy without interfering with your daily activities. The low noise level of the mower ensures that it won’t disturb the peace of your neighborhood while doing its job.

Conclusion

The RTK station offers superior navigation capabilities, enabling precise cutting even in intricate garden layouts. The inclusion of essential accessories such as spare blades, mounting options for the RTK station, and comprehensive guides highlights Mammotion’s dedication to user satisfaction.

I particularly value the thoughtful design features, like the removable battery for easy replacement and the LED headlight for night-time mowing. Optional extras, including the solar panel and garage roof, add versatility to the system. The solar panel is especially beneficial for powering the RTK station in areas without easy access to electricity, like my pergola at the back of the garden.

Between the 600 (white) and 800 (silver-grey) models I tested, the main differences are in battery capacity, lawn coverage, and multi-zone capabilities. The 800 model proved to be an ideal replacement for my larger Luba 2, particularly due to its additional features, making it better suited for my newly laid smaller section of lawn, where a more compact mower is advantageous.

For those with particularly challenging terrain featuring very steep slopes, Mammotion also offers the LUBA Mini with 4WD capabilities. This model provides enhanced traction on difficult inclines and features app-controlled height adjustment—convenient benefits for complex gardens. However, if your lawn has manageable slopes (up to 50% (27°) with the YUKA Mini) and you don’t need the added features of the LUBA Mini, the YUKA Mini offers excellent value while still delivering impressive performance.

Additionally, Mammotion’s upcoming iNavi system, which eliminates the need for the RTK station, is set to be released in the US in 2025 (already available in parts of Europe). This innovation will further enhance the user experience by simplifying setup and operation.

The YUKA Mini delivers outstanding performance, ease of use, and thoughtful features that make it a standout choice for anyone seeking a capable robotic mower for smaller to medium-sized lawns with standard terrain challenges.
