Summary
I’ve been fortunate enough to test out the new LawnMaster CLMF4815E cordless lawn mower and I have to say that I’ve been really impressed with its capabilities. With features like a mulching plug, an 8 gallon cloth grass catcher, 4 cutting heights, and automatic power adjustment, the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower really packs a lot in for a small machine.
I tested the LawnMaster 15″ CLMF4815E cordless lawn mower out on my back lawn and I can say that it really did exceed my expectations.
From the moment I got it out of the box, everything was easy and straightforward. Assembling everything was a breeze and required no tools, as you can see in my YouTube video and using the mower was a delight. In this LawnMaster CLMF4815E cordless lawn mower review, I’ll be going over the finer points and helping you decide whether this is the right cordless lawn mower for you and your yard.
Key Features:
- 15 inch cutting width
- 8 gallon grass catcher
- Full width starter bar
- 2 24v 4.0Ah batteries included
- Dual charger
- 30 minute run time
- Cut to edge blades
- Mulching function
- 4 cutting heights with central adjustment
- Padded handle
- Brushless motor
Power System And Batteries
One of the first things I noticed when I took the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower out of the box was that it comes with a dual charger. This isn’t something you get with every cordless mower so I was pleased to see that Lawnmaster has included this, since you do receive two 24v 4.0Ah batteries with this model.
These batteries mean that you’re getting 48v of power and this is ideal if you’re working with thicker or longer grass. What’s more, the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower automatically adjusts its power output depending on the thickness and length of the lawn which is fantastic for preserving battery life.
That said, you do get a good 30-35 minutes of run time out of a single charge which is perfect for lawns up to 5000 square feet.
I think it’s also brilliant that Lawnmaster has included a brushless motor which means it will last much longer and run more smoothly. Not only that but I did notice how quietly the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower runs which is great if you’re not looking to disturb your neighbors while maintaining your lawn.
Finally, I have to mention that the batteries included with the LawnMaster CLMF4815E are powershare batteries. This means that they can be used in any of the other 24 v tools from Lawnmaster. If you already have, or are planning to buy more tools within this range, this is a great way to save money.

Performance
I was really excited to try the LawnMaster CLMF4815E out on my rear lawn and I wasn’t disappointed. I also have created a YouTube review where you can see just how well this model performed.
One of the things I instantly noticed was how well the grass catcher pulled everything in, leaving nothing on the lawn which makes for a much easier clean up. As I’ve already mentioned, the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower ran really quietly which is always a nice touch.
While my lawn wasn’t overly long during the test, there were some patches that were slightly thicker and the LawnMaster quickly ramped up the power to handle this before rapidly adjusting again which definitely helped to maximize the running time.
The overall cut was extremely close and very neat so I was naturally very impressed and wouldn’t think twice about using the mower on my lawn again.
Deck and Blade
The LawnMaster CLMF4815E comes with a plastic deck which is great if you’re looking for something more lightweight. But the build quality isn’t compromised because of the materials and, for everyday use, I think this model is perfectly robust.
The blade itself is 15 inches which makes it suitable for lawns around 5000 square feet. However, there are some other options within this range that are ideal if you have a slightly larger lawn. In this case, I would recommend the 17 or 19 inch models. On the flip side, there is a smaller 13 inch model, however, it is worth noting that this one doesn’t yield the same amount of power, running on a single 24 v battery.
I noticed during my test, and you’ll see in my YouTube video, that there are blades along the edge of the deck which are designed to pull grass in along the edges of your lawn. If you have a raised border, a fence, a wall, or anything else along the edges, these blades will ensure an immaculately close cut. That’s fantastic news if you’re looking to save time once you’ve finished mowing.
Handles
The handles of your lawn mower might seem like an afterthought but I always think it’s important to look at their features. Where the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower was concerned, I wasn’t disappointed.
For starters, the handlebar is padded which adds to your comfort when mowing. You might think that this is a common feature but there are plenty of lawn mowers out there that don’t have padded handles and you’ll really notice the difference in terms of how much vibration you can feel.
What’s more, the handle on the LawnMaster has a starter bar that runs the full width; similar to a gas lawn mower. This makes it much easier when you’re turning corners and again adds to the overall comfort of using the machine.
If that wasn’t enough, consider that the handle can be adjusted into one of three height positions as well as an option to alter the angle. The benefit of this is that you can set the handle to a height and angle that’s most comfortable for you and that’s excellent news for your posture.
Wheels
The LawnMaster comes with large rear wheels that measure around 6.7 inches.
Having larger rear wheels is something I always look out for when reviewing a lawn mower as this helps when you’re turning corners and working on uneven ground. So, I was very pleased to see that Lawnmaster has given this some thought.
Height Adjustment
Now, the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower does only come with four cutting heights which might be considered a little low. However, when you consider that these cutting heights range between 1 ¼ inches and 2 ½ inches, it’s easy to see why you’ve got everything you need here in terms of versatility.
I was also really pleased to see that Lawnmaster has included a central height adjustment lever which makes changing between heights so quick and easy. You can see a quick demonstration of this in my YouTube review so be sure to check that out.
Roller
The mower does not come with a rear roller but that really is one of the only downsides to this machine. That said, there is a striping mat at the back of the mower so you do get a certain degree of striping. It just won’t be as prominent or long lasting as if there were a full sized roller installed.
Grass Catcher
I did find it a little strange that Lawnmaster doesn’t include any details on the size of the grass catcher as this is something that’s usually advertised. However, I measured it myself and I think it holds around 8 gallons of clippings which is a great size for a lawn mower like this one.
What I really love about the grass catcher is that it’s made from cloth and this means incredible air circulation and clippings that are really packed in so you have to empty less frequently.
Another benefit of a cloth grass catcher is storage. You can simply remove the inner frame, which takes seconds, and fold the grass catcher down so it’ll take up hardly any storage space at all.
One thing I did notice, however, is that, being cloth, you don’t get a full flap indicator. But with the grass catcher being partially see-through, this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Mulching
I was delighted to see that the LawnMaster 15″ cordless lawn mower comes with a mulching plug included in the box. I like to mulch my lawn a few times a year and this does wonders for its health and overall appearance.
When you take the mower out of the box, the mulching plug is already installed so do be mindful of this. You will need to remove this before attaching the grass catcher if you don’t want to use the mulching function the first time you mow. I have a guide on the benefits of mulching which contains some useful information on why this process is so important for the health of your lawn.
Practicalities
If you take a look at my YouTube review, you’ll see just how quickly and easily I was able to assemble this product. Yes, there are a few pieces to fit together but it doesn’t require any tools and even someone who has never assembled a mower before would have very few problems.
As I mentioned earlier, the LawnMaster cordless lawn mower is made from plastic which means it’s a lightweight model that’s ideal for people who don’t want to lug a hefty machine around the yard.
You’ll also notice that there is a handy gauge on the batteries which shows you how much power you have left. I love this feature as it means you’ll never be caught short halfway through a mowing session.
Safety Features
As is the case with most cordless lawn mowers, the LawnMaster comes with a safety key. This needs to be inserted before the mower will power up and is essential if you have children and want to avoid accidental start ups and injuries.

Pros and Cons

If you’re looking for a lightweight, user-friendly lawn mower that has a few extra functions, like a mulching plug, and that is ideal for everyday use then I would strongly recommend the LawnMaster CLMF4815E cordless lawn mower.
Being suitable for lawns around 5000 square feet, this is going to be the perfect option for many homeowners. But, as I have mentioned, there are other sizes available so, if you like the features of this model, you don’t have to miss out.
For anyone that is looking to switch to a cordless lawn mower, I think the LawnMaster CLMF4815E cordless lawn mower would be a great entry level machine. It’s got enough features that you can easily maintain your yard but not too many that it becomes complicated.
What’s more, with the intelligent power system and good battery run time, it’s a great option for those that want a neat cut without any hassle.
Conclusion
I often get excited by cordless lawn mowers but none have got me quite as impressed as the Lawnmaster cordless mower. This nimble, lightweight, and super easy to use piece of equipment is sure to make lawn maintenance a breeze.
Even though this is what you might describe as an everyday bit of kit, it’s got some amazing functions and features that take lawn care to the next level.
I was so impressed with the close cut it gave to my back lawn and how well it adjusted its power when things got tough, quickly reverting to less power when the grass became more manageable.
There are so few downsides to the LawnMaster CLMF4815E cordless lawn mower that I struggled to come up with any cons. Aside from the lack of a rear roller, there’s really nothing I didn’t like about this model.
